Fantastic experience: Been dreading the exam for so long but I finally passed my restricted after failing 3 times!!! I was recommended by my partner to contact Delaney and after a few lessons I applied his teachings into my daily driving and eventually passed the test with flying colours! If you are having trouble with your driving or you have anxiety on the road I recommend to take lessons with Delaney. He is straight to the point and can pick up your mistakes and bad habits very well. He tells you how you can improve not only to pass the test but also to become a better driver :) he’s also pretty fun to talk to!!

Having driven in Jakarta for over a decade, I lost confidence when I moved to Christchurch and needed to convert my license. The driving conditions here are so different—where in Jakarta, you’re navigating tight spaces at low speeds, Christchurch roads demand awareness far ahead, and speeds of up to 100 kph in the motorway make any mistake potentially dangerous. Delaney’s experience shines through in his teaching. He’s organized, detailed, and practical. He not only explained the “why” behind road rules but also gave me invaluable tips that I’ll carry with me. He introduced me to a variety of routes and road conditions to ensure I was fully prepared for my test. His patience, sense of humor, and encouraging style made learning enjoyable. One of his memorable lines when I kept repeating mistakes was, “Slow down, you little hoon!” But he was quick to praise when I got things right. Our lessons became more than just driving practice—we shared stories, discussed cultural differences, and even swapped tips on the best food spots in Christchurch. Over time, my confidence grew, and my driving became smoother. On my last lesson, Delaney gave me a mirror to help with blind spots and reminded me to stay calm and trust myself during the test. Fantastic experience: My experience with Delaney was amazing! He is a top notch driving instructor. He was always patient with me and made me feel comfortable when driving. When he was teaching me to drive, it was like receiving wisdom from Mr Miyagi. His teachings were firm and informative when needed but was also fun and relaxed so I didn’t feel anxious or stressed. I managed to pass my test after practicing with Delaney with more hope than I could’ve done if I went somewhere else.

If you are going to choose a driving instructor, choose Delaney, I highly recommend him because he makes sure that you feel good and comfortable about driving with an instructor. During my lessons with Delaney, he taught me techniques and ways that I needed not only to pass my practical driving test but also how to be a good driver, this includes the skill on how to handle any situation on the road, has discussed all the necessary rules of the road and constantly reminded me of self-discipline, patience, and being alert. Furthermore, he practically taught me how to parallel park during our first driving session, he was really understanding and professional and was quite reasonable and assisted me in understanding the standards and typical errors. He remained calm and patient during our driving sessions, which I thought was admirable. Thank you again, Delaney, you truly are unique.
