We are NZTA Approved Motorcycle Instructor-Assessors and providers of the Basic Handling Skills Test (BHS Test for attaining your Learners Licence) and Competency Based Training Assessment (CBTA for attaining Restricted and Full Licence) to proceed you through the NZ licensing system - CBTA is the only way to reduce time between Restricted and Full Licences.
We specialize in delivering On-Road Training to prepare you for the CBTA Assessments. This is usually conducted right before the test. We recommend doing the Training and Test Package unless you have completed a Bronze Rideforever Course first.
We also conducted 1-on-1 On-Road Coaching, tailored to your needs - we can help get you on the road for the first time or even a refresher
Rider Training NZ: Reviews
Fantastic experience: Dawn is a Great, professional teaching, nice and clear instructions, with great intercom for communicating while riding, I felt more confident and safer after her training. So don’t worry, just follow up with her, you will make it.
Fantastic experience: Would highly recommend Dugal as an instructor. He will ensure you learn all the basics and will try and make sure you're at the right level to start the test. He made everything easy to understand and also had great banter to make it feel less stressful. Go in with an open mind to learn and he will guide you to the finish line. Will definitely be coming back to do my restricted. Thank you, Dugal!
Fantastic experience: Rebecca clearly explained what is expected from the rider in the BHS. She was friendly and helpful. A good instructor indeed. I definitely recommend them
Negative experience: Highly Not Recommended
Fantastic experience: Great service, they went out of their way to help me in organising my restricted licence training and test on a rental bike. I had a great training session with Dawn and I learned so much! She was constructive, reassuring, and she also helped to make the test stress free. I will definitely come back, even though I passed, because their classes are so helpful in teaching me to ride safer and more confidently. Thank you!
Fantastic experience: Found booking and communication with the team very good and well organised. Did both my Restricted and Full licence training and tests with Dawn, I found both the instruction and tips on how to improve my riding well explained during the training. I highly recommend
Fantastic experience: Very profesional and informative training session. I did my restricted and decided to take an hour training prior to the test, which i suggest is a must do if you have bad habbits, and Dawn was fantastic, with clear communication great guidance and despite the bad conditions with wind and rain, i passed my restricted first time. Good teachers make for good riders. Thank you!
Fantastic experience: Instructor: Dugal Course: BHST - The Intro Previous experience: scooter and manual cars Great experience, I'll be back for my CBTA.
Fantastic experience: Done both my CBTA R and F with Dawn, booking was nice and simple. Partner Lisa also did hers with Dawn and also had a great experience! Did the quick 1 hour training before each test and found it very helpful (more helpful than the Ride Forever Bronze and Silver courses I did with another crowd!) Great relaxed atmosphere and even better routes for both times. Highly recommend to all :)
Fantastic experience: Awesome experience doing my restricted to full licence CBTA2+ including a training session just before the test. Dawn was super helpful in letting me know what she's expecting to see and how to ride safely.
Negative experience: Instructor is absolutely hopeless at coaching. He thinks that telling you what to do and then berating you how bad you are when you fail qualifies as coaching. As a beginner, this is not somewhere you want to come to learn to ride. Only take the CBTA test here if the other schools are fully booked out, this is a waste of time and money.
Thanks for your reply Min. I have spoken with the Instructor regarding your experience. I’m sorry if this was not up to your expected standard BUT putting up bad reviews because you did not pass your course is not a respectable way to deal with a failed test. He commented that you made 3 critical errors which if you had been riding on the road could endanger yourself or anyone else. Please take criticism positively as this may save your life one day, as Motorcycles are very dangerous and we are only trying to help you.
Negative experience: DISHONEST! STAY AWAY! Regarding response: Two side of any story. So what does your Google review says about who "you are accommodating " to ? Your customers or yourself? Re- DISHONEST! STAY AWAY!
Thanks for your review Sebastien. Couldn’t help but notice that you have often criticised businesses when it isn’t in your favour. To put this story right, Sebastien paid for his course BUT failed to turn up AND did not contact us about not being able to attend. We actually contacted you. Hence why you lost your booking as we require prior notice if cannot attend as per our Terms and Conditions. There is alway two sides of the story and we did try to accomodate you.
Fantastic experience: Very good highly recommend
Negative experience: Appalling experience and obvious that they're intent on failing riders on their CBT to try and get you to re-sit for an extra $180. After complaining they rang me and verbally abused me over the phone. Sit your licence with someone else
Fantastic experience: Did training + full license. Trainer/tester was at meeting point on time (before actually). Training was worth it - got real-time tips on what I was doing wrong or could be doing better, and having this right before the test on the same types of roads for the test made a massive difference. Test was good, conditions were far from perfect but my tester was understanding and made me feel comfortable with riding to the conditions despite that being far below the speed limits. No qualms at all with price or service.
Negative experience: As a beginner rider with no experience, I found the "full monty" 2 hour course an absolute rip off. Guy sat with back to me on desk doing paper work while I practiced gear changes. Then went to toilet while I struggled with hill start. I left course at end of 2 hours without achieving basic handling skills. Asked me to come back for another 1 hour for $140.... yea no thanks!
