Two Bald Bikers Motorcycle Training: Reviews
Fantastic experience: Really good instructors, highly recommend the training, very safe and supportive of new riders.
Fantastic experience: Recently completed a Ride Forever Course - highly recommend it. Extremely informative, was run very well and creates a positive environment for learning! Certainly will be doing this again with them for continual learning.
Fantastic experience: Perfect spot for a teenager to do their basic handling skills, friendly and competent instructor. After a small admin error was blocking ability to get license, Ross bent over backwards to make sure it was sorted quick smart, avoiding a salty teenager for the long weekend. Much appreciated.
Fantastic experience: Took the Learn to Ride and the BHT, great instructors
Fantastic experience: Ross is my person of the month! Before I flew down to ChCh to pick up a motorbike Ross found some time at short notice to give me a 1 on 1 lesson. That 2 hours may of saved my life? Thank you Ross and Carolyn :)
Fantastic experience: Did a Ride Forever Urban Commuter course with these guys, learned a lot and had a great experience (despite the rain).
Fantastic experience: My wife and I had our first learn to ride with Ross today. What an excellent experience! Ross broke things down really well into small steps and we felt safe throughout. By the end we were doing laps in the parking lot! Ross is very friendly, experienced and encouraging. Highly recommended.
Fantastic experience: Can't recommend these guys highly enough. I've done two Ride Forever Silver courses as well as a CBTA assessment for my full license. In both Ride Forever Silver courses we did and learned different things. Even on a full day (groups of 6), he was able to give specific actionable advice that improves your riding without overloading you with information. In all those interactions, Ross was the instructor and he is excellent. He clearly has a curious mind because he can detail to you the physical forces in any specific manoeuvre, then in the next sentence will tell you (accurately) transmission speeds at neuron synapses and the biology of saccadic blindness. What makes it more impressive is that he gives it to you in a level-appropriate way.
Fantastic experience: Fantastic experience with learn to ride, basic handling skills and now Bronze rider courses. Cannot fault the team in particular Ross who has taken all my courses. So much knowledge and experience and most importantly patience. These guy's will help you get from a complete novice to a confident safe rider no worries!
Fantastic experience: Fantastic day out on the Ride Forever Bronze course today. Ross is epic and brings a lot of knowledge and experience to the table. Thoroughly enjoyed it!
Fantastic experience: If I could give these guys more stars I absolutely would. I was super nervous but they were so patient, and really invested their time to make sure I had a good experience. They also are both hilarious and being nervous a good laugh really helped. Thoroughly recommend if you’re anxious or new - you can be sure they’ll take the time to give you the one on one attention and feedback you really need to learn. Thanks again team!
Fantastic experience: Sat my basic handling, sliver and cbta full with the two an learnt heaps off them! They are both patient and have loads of knowledge . I highly recommend and look forward to sit my gold with them soon. Chur
Fantastic experience: 100% recommend if sitting any of your licences or want to do a Ride Forever course. Very knowledgeable, and happy to answer questions. I witnessed an adaptable teacher with different learning strategies. Will be back to sit future licences
Fantastic experience: Great experience. Would thoroughly recommend Team Stuart and Ross. Thanks guys. Will definitely be joining you for many more training courses
Fantastic experience: Sat my restricted cbta course with Ross and full with Stuart, both times had a fantastic and informative experience. The feedback they gave was invaluable in making me a more confident rider. They are accurate in corrections without being overbearing, kind in their words yet do not shy away from pointing out what is wrong, and most importantly they are understanding of the different stages people are at in their learning and tailor their lessons accordingly. Could not recommend them enough no matter how experienced you are! They are both individually great instructors so no matter what you need help with you'll find it here in high quality.
Fantastic experience: Recently completed the Bronze ride forever course with Stuart as the trainer, and found him to be very professioanl yet down to earth, as well as being passionate about rider safety, and getting people to be the best they can be. I'm surprised to read some of these negative reviews, perhaps if you are unable to handle being told you're doing something wrong/unsafe, then maybe riding motorcycles isn't for you.
Fantastic experience: I recently had a few learning sessions with Ross and Stewart. I feel really lucky to have them in Wellington. Compared with other training providers, they offer the best designed courses, easy to ride bikes and fabulous training quality. Riding a motorcycle is not easy and can be dangerous. Training with them is well worth it because it will possibly save your life. Cannot recommend Ross and Stewart enough!
Negative experience: Stuart was an absolute desrespectful person! He doesn’t need to shout at people for making small mistakes! People come to you guys for learning, so they will make mistakes! If they wouldn’t make mistakes they wouldn’t need to come to you guys! So I would suggest that you guys should start being a bit respectful with your customers and understand that if people are coming to give their BHS test or any other test they WILL BE making mistakes and you don’t need to take your anger out on them. Even though I passed my test but he made me and the other rider feel horrible and uncomfortable! You can be nice and still be able to point out the mistakes! Most of the people wouldn’t even want to argue with him because they would have paid for the test and wouldn’t want to fail it just because of arguing with him.
Fantastic experience: Took both of my restricted and full license tests along with 1 hour trainings with Stuart. He’s a calm and patient man giving me lots of useful instructions during the trainings which helped me successfully complete my both tests without any mistakes. Highly recommend Two Bald Bikers to those who are after riding courses or taking practical test.
Fantastic experience: I thoroughly enjoyed both the learn to ride and basic handling course today. My instructor was patient and carefully explained what I did well and what I need to change in order to do something better. My instructor was professional and a really nice guy, when I messed up he’d say ‘shake it off, try again’. It really helped my confidence and made the difference between me walking away thinking I can’t do it or taking in what was said and trying again. I can’t fault my experience and have booked my next two courses already. I highly recommended this business.
Negative experience: I did a bronze ride forever certified with Stuart, I had my leaner license for about 5 weeks. Stuart has a habit of picking on the weakest rider, first the lass (return rider with full license) she lasted 3 hours, you could hear her broken voice on the intercom.. then the chap with the classic bike, his bike broke down on the ride part and yes I was the 3rd weakest in his mind ,my turn, then I came off my bike... I think partly to the fact Stuart moved my brake handle to where he thought was best there was no follow up in the following days or weeks they also didn't reply to an email I sent them. As a very novice rider he took us over the "Saddle road" and "pahiatua track" on the 25km down hill hair pins his advice repeated over the intercom was "go faster" to be honesty I just wanted to walk away from riding I didn't thanks to a mate who help me to take a highway curve at 100 km yes I was that green. On that day as a trainer Stuart failure, nice enough guy just not suitable for people learning. Maybe if you know what your doing he's ok but for beginners try someone else.
Negative experience: Incredibly rude and unprofessional instructor. One star is more than they deserve
Negative experience: I had an awful experience with these guys, virtually as soon as I started he said to me, "are you sure you are ready for this?" I was already very nervous because it was a test situation and using a new bike (doing basic handling) and that comment totally destroyed my confidence. After that I apologised for doing something badly and he said "yeah I'm not going to lie to you it wasn't good." I believe being treated with a bit more humility and encouragement given we were doing our first motorcycle test on bikes we were not used to would have made the experience so much better.
Fantastic experience: I did the Basic Handling Skills course and test with Stuart. He was very knowledgeable and he gave instructions that were easy to follow. He pointed some things I didnt pick up on that I was doing wrong and told me why it was wrong and how to fix it. Throughout the course he was very friendly and it made it a great experience. There was only 2 of us learning which made the 1 on 1 time a lot more focused compared to other courses that would have higher numbers at once. Highly recommend doing this course to anyone wanting to get their learners.
Fantastic experience: Did the bronze ride forever course with Stuart as my instructor. His passion for rider safety shows in every word he speaks. Very knowledgeable and is great at delivering constructive feedback. Will be recommending these guys to everyone I speak to.
Fantastic experience: These fellas are amazing. So impressed with how this panned out
Fantastic experience: Thanks Stuart. You were patient and your advice spot on. See you soon.
Fantastic experience: I have read a few reviews and agree, yes learning to ride (safely) doesn't include lots of hugs and there was a few times a stern voice was needed so "I got how serious the situation was". I never ride (until now) in the rain and religiously stayed off motorways especially during rain and wind. After going outside my comfort zone and facing the rain and wind I now know my bike better and will get more ride time. This wouldn't have happened without a push. I learned loads including getting rid of some bad habits, now correcting them will be a much safer ride. I was also taught about my bike and what it can do. I also learned about what kind of rider I want to be and what kind of bike to look for later on when I am ready to move on from mine. My expectation was to learn and gain some skill and I attained that as well as so much more. I didn't get hugs or told I am naturally a super biker. However I did learn to ride safe and a few tricks that will save my life if I apply the learning. Today was great and I highly reccomend a full day one on one to anyone who wants to leave the tuition a better rider. Also learned to avoid tricky situations and fight those self inflicted bad habits. Thanks so much TBB. Jackie
Your more than welcome Jackie and it was pleasure to see you soak up the information and actually put it into practice. It was most enjoyable day and we leave happy knowing you will become a much safer and better rider.
Fantastic experience: I completed my basic handling course with ross over the weekend. He was amazing very helpful, I had anxiety and he worked with me and made me feel calm to insure a very good experience. Thanks ross great work I'm very thankful. You are very good at what you do
Negative experience: Completed the bronze course really insightful. Definitely worth doing. I had sat there CBTA Restricted a day after, my test was perfect until the end where my following distance was to close due to a overtaking situation i had to make but ok fear enough. There was no incident or interference with any vehicles and I was failed on this. There is a list on line of what things can fail you instantly and following distance was not in there. I wasn't given any chances. There test costs $175 and you are required to do more than the vtnz test which costs $134. I was given the option to do another test at another time for another $130. Maybe I should have just gone with vtnz from the start.
Negative experience: Poor service from these guys! I had Ross take me for a simple restricted test and failed me on head checks even though I was doing them often. I have to say Ross really lived up to his reputation, claimed I was eye balling him because I was making eye contact.
Fantastic experience: I completed a Learn to Ride and then Basic Handling Skills essentially as a block course on a Saturday morning. The sequence and pace of learning suited my skill level and confidence. The website and emails clearly outlined the minimum skill level needed for each course, and I think these are accurate descriptions. Stuart paid close attention to my actions and provided consistent feedback, which continually improved my riding. I left the courses feeling extremely confident that I learn't and consolidated the skills needed to progress onto the road. The bikes were in excellent condition and the ratio of one instructor to two students meant greater levels of observation, feedback, and improvement. Also, the ratio of instructor to student meant there was no waiting / idle time. Stuart was very happy to answer questions and you never felt that any question was a silly one. He also provided excellent options on my next steps, type of bike to consider for my first purchase, and outlined a sensible plan that will see me continue CBTA training through Two Bald Bikers. I happily recommend Two Bald Bikers Motorcycle Training for anyone considering taking the first steps of learning how to ride or for experienced riders who are considering their other course offerings..
Fantastic experience: Did the learner basic handling course. Brilliant instructor, very down to earth, hilarious and knew exactly what to get you to work on. Would highly recommend for anyone looking do sit their basic handling test, will definitely be using their other courses too.
Negative experience: Stuart was passionate and very protective and caring. But it didn't help when he shouts and gets nervous. He put me off a couple of times and I was about to leave the course. It took me a while to calm down and I kept reminding myself that he cares about us. Would go back but on the conditions that he does not make people stressed out as you don't want that to happen to you whole you are learning. Thanks for your effort Stuart and no hrad feelings. Modar
Fantastic experience: Excellent really informative fantastic instructor.
Fantastic experience: Helpful af
Negative experience: I have took basic handling here that was a almost most terrible experience in my riding life. The instructor always vaping during training and contemptuously took a joke about who taught me riding. He always illustrated another boy did really well because he also took his learner course. After I fail test here, I took another one at Ride Forever in Petone, they are really gentle and professional. They always encourage you what should you do next and won’t let you get nervous, they have enough time for you to practice sufficiently for pass the test not harsh under a tight time frame. I really recommend if you know how to ride then go to Ride Forever for Basic Handing and CBTA training.
Negative experience: Would have to say one of the most unprofessional places I have been to in my life. Made me feel really uncomfortable and also was putting me down for the hour long training I did. He made jokes about my bike (wasn’t flash but was all I could afford) said I should have cleaned my bike before my test (bike was not dirty at all maybe a little dusty) was vaping during training which I found very awkward also. I really think they should reevaluate how they treat paying customers. Sorry to say but can’t recommend as have heard the same from two others now.
Fantastic experience: Ross was absolutely fantastic. Patient, great advice and guidance, everything you would want in an instructor. Highly recommend and will be continuing my journey motorcycling with them in the future.
Negative experience: Not happy with this place, stu Nelson instructor was not friendly at all....you will only pass here if you do all the courses that are listed in their website..
Sorry to hear your experience was not what you expected. Could you tell us the course or assessment you did so we can better understand the situation.
Fantastic experience: Phenomenal teaching by great knowledgeable teachers. The courses are well taught and miss nothing that one needs to know. The courses have only two students in each which makes the teaching streamlined and attentive. Highest praises for this well managed business.
Fantastic experience: Awesome Instructors.
Fantastic experience: Highly recommend. The coaches are really helpful.
Fantastic experience: Super patient and professional. So much knowledge and advise and go out of their way to make the training specific to the individual. I highly recommend for anyone starting out or needing a refresher.
Fantastic experience: Awesome place to go learn I highly recommended Two Bald Bikers.
Fantastic experience: Good trainers helped me a lot and gave me the Cofidance and practical skills to pass my learners.
Fantastic experience: Just completed the learn to ride course and sat the basic handling skills course and assessment. This was a great combo of training following a logical set of progressive learning points to prepare for and pass the basic handling skills test. It was a very friendly and safety focused course that I would recommend to anyone wanting to learn to ride or progress in their riding skills. I will be back. Thanks heaps
Fantastic experience: Great guys I achieved my bike licences through them.
Fantastic experience: Did the most basic courses where they teach how to ride around a court right from the beginning. The trainer was very nice, extremely helpful, and there were only two people being trained at a time so it was tailored to suite individuals.
Fantastic experience: Same again as the Wainuiomata little theater are in the buildings of what's left of the old Wainuiomata college i was there for a Wainuiomata college reunion.
Fantastic experience: great training
Fantastic experience: Don't even bother with a different local school. Well priced, knowledgeable, friendly, just an all around AWESOME experiance. Couldn't have made a better choice, thanks Ross!
Fantastic experience: Sat my Bhst today with Ross. I really enjoyed the day and learnt lots, I'm looking forward to doing the urban rider course. If you are new or old to this I'm sure you will learn some new skills and enjoy improving your riding.
Fantastic experience: Really enjoyed my training. Highly recommend!
Fantastic experience: Silver course as a refresher after 20+ years of riding. Good, easy to understand and digest information. A fun day and managed to iron out some old bad habits and gain some new skills. Look forward to doing my Gold with TBB
Fantastic experience: I've done two courses with TBB now and they've been great. First was the basic skills course for the learners and we had three of us on the course. Ross was great, took us through the initial techniques and worked with everyone one-on-one throughout the day to help improve on weak areas. Also did the Bronze course which was excellent too. A lot to learn under different conditions but broken up into manageable pieces. Each rider was also given one-on-one time throughout the day with the instructor to identify and work on areas that needed improvement. Highly recommend TBB if you're wanting to get your motorcycle licence.
