Fantastic experience: Attended the Bronze course with Philip as the instructor and can't recommend this enough. Philip was friendly, understanding and listened to what we wanted to achieve out of the course. Instructions and advise were clearly explained and I learned more in a single day than I have done in months alone. Will see you for my restricted before the year is up.

Fantastic experience: I had the best experience with Phillip. He was an amazing instructor even when I ended up with the bike on the floor. He never made me feel bad about it for a second and immediately helped me to get my bearings again so that I could pass the final test. Could not recommend Riderskills enough

Fantastic experience: Great experience with Philip. There is a large difference in quality between rider skills and Prorider, I remember learning to ride and taking a pro rider course and it was 8 or so learners with one instructor. For Riderskills it’s never more than 3 or 4. Philip is very qualified for what he does, can’t recommend his courses enough for new, or experienced riders.

Fantastic experience: Had the pleasure of taking my basic handling test with Phillip. I could understand his Instructions clearly and he is a really patient and kind person to have as an instructor. I booked my test a day before I took the basic handling test which is awesome. Definitely recommend booking with riderskills.

Fantastic experience: I did basic handling training and test with zero prior riding experience and it went very well! It is a good step by step program that gets you through all the basics. Very satisfying to compare yourself in the beginning and at the end of the course.

Fantastic experience: I chose the experienced option for the basic handling test and it went great. Philip is talkative, patient and kind and let's you know where you made mistakes and how to fix them. Also the bookings had a one and two week wait. Cannot complain since other places had booking waits of 3 to 4 weeks. Overall just a really pleasant experience

Fantastic experience: Completed my BHST with Phil today and was very pleased with the outcome. Helmet, gloves and motorbike were all supplied which was amazing. He is very helpful when there is improvements to be made. Most definitely knows his stuff and would 100% recommend him to anyone keen on riding a motorbike.

Fantastic experience: Urban Commuter course with Philip was excellent, well run, tailored to the type of riding I do, and covered heaps of useful skills packed into 4 hours. I left feeling much more confident and I know what skills to keep practicing in my own time.

Glen was an excellent and friendly instructor for both and I learnt a lot from the courses and had a blast at the same time. Would highly recommend for anyone wanting motorcycle training and will be back again for the Silver course and my full when I'm ready.

Fantastic experience: Gold Course with Glen Leyston was brilliant. Very calmly spoken, kind and friendly. Sat back to observe for a while before then heading to the front and very clearly explaining scenarios and situations while throughout the whole day providing all positive feedback. Regardless of Bronze, Silver, Gold or license testing, I believe Glen is a great instructor who will ensure to provide positive input and provide confidence in riders to ensure always in their best interests. Fantastic experience: Had my BHS Test done with Mark at Silverdale today. Mark was super patient, super skilled, super everything you’d expect from an instructor! Another highlight is that during the whole course there were only two students including me and there were two bikes which means one can have one bike during the whole course! I’d recommend this place for everyone who need BHS tests! Will come back couple years later for my restricted!

Fantastic experience: Fantastic day doing the Silver riderskills course. Phillip spent good time making sure everyone understood what they needed to know and why it was important. Lots of really good tips and learnings that improve your skills. Learn so much even though I've been riding for a number of years. Everyone who rides should do these courses with Riderskills.

Fantastic experience: My son had just completed his learners in Australia the week previously and was coming to NZ to visit. Phil recommended a 1 on 1 3 hour training session and then a Ride Forever Course so he could upskill quickly. He did this (I did the Ride Forever course with him too) and then we spent 3 days riding Coromandel and a day on SH16 & Woodcocks Rd. Best way to ease my son into riding safely with a great company and some great trainers. Thanks guys! Awesome memories!

Fantastic experience: Did my BHS, Restricted, Full, and Gold with these guys. Hands down the best provider of Ride Forever and CBTA R/F assessments in Auckland. The Ride Forever was a small group and 2 way comms, the instructor was incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and helpful, and being able to communicate back and forth really helped (Prorider doesn't do this fyi). Their CBTA was great, I was nervous and they really helped me calm down and do my best. Would recommend strongly.

Fantastic experience: I started riding two years ago after a gap of almost 20 years. I've used Riderskills for my BHT training, two Silver and one Gold Ride Forever training courses and I must say I have developed my riding skills considerably. The coaches, Philip and Jude are both very good coaches and help you get better and safer with each training course you attend. They are both very experienced and knowledgeable and pass on the knowledge to those attending the traning. I'll definitely recommend attending the ride forever training courses and will most certainly recommend Riderskills as they keep class sizes to a maximum of 4 learners which gives each person more individualised coaching time.

Fantastic experience: I would just like to say Rider skills definitely has knowledgeable and patient instructors, I feel really happy that I have picked this provider to complete my Ride forever bronze and Cbta Restricted test. Instructor Simon shared very helpful riding information for everyday riding and test information. On the day I went for my test Instructor Philip was very patient with me, (my L plate somehow dropped on my way to the test), I know that some instructors would of probably given me an immediate fail, Philip turned around and gave me a learner plate to complete my test, thanks to him I have passed!!! Big thank you to Simon and Philip, will be back for silver and full license test soon.

Fantastic experience: Had a great time doing the BHS course. Went from knowing nothing to riding and passing the test for my learners license. Great instructors, very knowledgeable!

Negative experience: Rude Irish individual on the phone. Hangs up in the middle of conversation and aggressive in nature. Should be polite to clients, very unprofessional. Will be using another company.

Fantastic experience: Did my Rideforever Silver course with them yesterday. The instructor was Jude and he did a great job at teaching some great skills and also instantly cautioning against any reckless moves by being stern but not rude (advising of every possible consequences). I must say that he drilled “safety first” into my riding, which is so important. He was very progressive in leading the difficulty level of the ride and at the end of the day, I was very confident about riding slow and fast but always keeping safety, stability and vision into account. The most important lesson I learnt, which I knew in theory but rarely practiced, was to look far ahead and predict with accuracy what lay ahead (and if in doubt, to slow down and be prepared for any unforeseen danger). First class job guys, can’t wait to do my Gold Course with you.

Negative experience: The coaches here are very nice and professional besides the old fattie coach. He is very inpatient and unfridendly, just like a grumpy old man. I would recommend the Riderskills company but definitely not this coach.

Negative experience: For the second time in one year I book a free training and they confirm a date then thy eather call at the same of the booking morning saying its cancel or they called me two days earlier to my booking saying your booking is today when it's in two days! Then the trainer just hunged the call on me. And when I try to call them and leaving voice messages and emailing them, No one came back to me :( I'm very annoyed because I applyed for a day leave from my work. Very bad Customer Service.

Negative experience: Booked a test and was called back less then 24 hours beforehand and told I could not do it that day due to lack of other people so arranged a new day to do it unfortunately I was called into work at the last moment and called to try rescedual and was told I could not and was not welcome to sit the test with the company very rude and unprofessional.

Positive experience: Passed my learners test last year with Riderskills. I'm a complete novice about motorcycling and manual transmission but Riderskills is a great place to learn the core basics. Unfortunately, my assigned instructor seemed a little grumpy and preferred to wonder off back to the van... (a bit tired I assume?) Fortunately, I had another cheerful instructor taking over the second half of the lesson and received plenty of constructive feedback. I had mixed experience, but it is all part of the game. Never give up and Safe ride.

Fantastic experience: I did the Basic handling skills test with zero motorcycle experience. Martin and Simon were the instructors for the day. I would describe them and tough but patient. Tough on getting through the importance of riding safely while giving plenty of time and space to practice. All in all would reccomend. Thank you Martin and Simon.

My advice for those who plan on getting the test done, get a Test Prep course first, there you can get some new skills, tips and tricks which will help you a lot in doing the actual test. Fantastic experience: Very enjoyable experience at Riderskills last weekend. I did the New Riders class which finishes with the Basic Handling Skills Test. I was very nervous having never ridden a motorcycle before nor have I driven a manual car. The bikes were brand new and perfectly suited for new riders, the three men were very understanding and supportive but at no point did I feel like they were being unprofessional. If they saw that I was struggling with a particular task they identified what in particular was going wrong and would offer me great tips to help me to understand and get used to the task. They were very friendly and I greatly appreciated the bottle of chilled water while I practiced for the test, I'm sure it made all the difference in calming my nerves and hydrating me.

Fantastic experience: I did my Basic Handling Skills with Rider Skills. It was a very well run and organised event with more than adequate support for a novice rider. Couldn't recommend this place enough. Will be booking in for the Bronze Course in the immediate future.

Fantastic experience: Great experience in getting the Basic Skills Handling Test done on the GN125s on a wet weekend. Instructors are very experienced and friendly, making it possible to go from complete novice (like myself) to competent for a Learners in a couple of hours, while also really enjoying the process. Would highly recommend to anyone for their BSHT and will personally use again in the future for training towards 6R and 6F licences.

Fantastic experience: Both my partner and I have done our Bronze course with Philip, he is an amazing instructor with a wealth of knowledge. He listens to you and will work with you on the things you are not confident to do. Since taking the course with him we both have more of an understanding of road craft. Fantastic experience: I did my BHS and passed but i still have a lot of things to work on. I really enjoyed the course, Simon was my instructor on that day, after every exercise he asks me how i felt and where i struggled, and what are the errors and then he shows me the way to get over these obstacles. This kind of teaching can't even be found in university these days. I will definitely be back for another lesson or 2 in the future, and the Ride forever course. Extra information for others who are comparing RiderSkills course with other companies. Rider skills got a bigger parking space, so i don't worry about hitting a wall (trust me you will know how important this is once you start) other training providers have limited parking space. Instructors Mr Philip and Simon are extremely efficient and do not waste 20 minutes asking me questions and telling things i already know. Price is excellent no one can beat it and give you the same experience.

Fantastic experience: Great experience with the guys at Riderskills. They took their time to explain everything fully and in detail. They were firm but fair. All they asked was that you fully listened to their instructions. The gear and bikes used were great and I really appreciated them providing some cold bottled water given that it was such a hot day. I will be back to progress my skills further.

Fantastic experience: I’m ‘Fresh of the Boat’ to the motorcycle world and Riderskills gave me an excellent core base to build off. I was so nervous but they really keep me on track for immediate skills I needed to venture out on my journey to become apart of it. They take their craft seriously and safely but also share that if you can be mindful of the dangers motorbikes can be super fun. Nice comfortable gear to work the exercises on the new learner Suzuki’s. Thanks to Martin and Phil for the patience and knowledge. I’m looking forward to taking up the chance to do the ACC courses with them once I find a bike I’m comfortable with.

Negative experience: The worst experience I have ever had. Martin is a cheerful guy who takes the initial training. He shows you then exercise but then leaves you on your way. Phillip is the grumpy old man who does the real test. He did not like me from the start. When turning he says you have to keep your head to the right. But what about whats in front of you? This was not mentioned at all in the initial training. He failed me and I stayed back to watch the last guy. Two turns this guy's head was straight during the turn and he passed. I brought this up and all he could say was "I know what I am looking for, come back and do it again and we will get you up to standard." Yet I am commuting safely to work on the daily. Also the test is not even on even roads (not that it needs to be, but maybe a good note to take) it is on almost a hill. I will do my BHST with another company. Very sad.

Fantastic experience: Went from start to finish with Riderskills (BHS to Full CBTA) and took the Rideforever Bronze and Silver. Really friendly and helpful instructors. If I had to do it all again, it would be with Riderskills. Looking forward to doing the Gold course here as well.

I really tested them as I'm a perfectionist, a slow learner and very dysfunctional at following instructions - they still got me through but would have failed me if I couldn't do it, which is how it's supposed to be :). They're not flash and showy, they're practical and really nice people.
