PassRite Driving Academy

Fantastic experience: I wanted to give my personal feedback on Passrite Academy. Had gone in for my class 2 license course with Martin Mercer at Passrite Academy Onehunga. He was an absolute legend. 2 days of in class Theory getting the feel for how it is to operate a rigid vehicle and the dos and don’t’s. Teachers are willing to go 1 on 1 and make sure you get the right understanding of each aspect of handling a Heavy vehicle. With the 2 practical drives you get to be hands in the trucks 1 on 1 with the teacher and learn how to handle a rigid vehicle. And prepares you for your assessment. Overall a great source to get the right knowledge from and definitely reccomend using their services provided worth the money.

Fantastic experience: Glen from PassRite Auckland has a wealth of knowledge well worth listening too. Both theory and practical test made stress free and easy helping me achieve my class 5. Highly recommend paying him a visit if you’re looking to upskill your license. Cheers Glen and the PassRite team love your work.

Fantastic experience: I got my class 5 driving licence here today. All staff were very professional and friendly. My trainer was Glen and he is the best trainer I have ever seen. He taught me everything about reversing class 5 truck. I am very happy to learn how to drive reversing tandem truck. He is very very helpful and perfect trainer and polite person. You should drive with him at least 3 hours. He is going to teach you everything about tandem truck. If you want to get class 5 training don't hesitate to come Passrite Thank you so much for all your help Passrite. Highly recommended...

Fantastic experience: Passrite.. I have passed my DG and class 5 practical driving test today. I learn lot from my tutors Martin, David and my favorite person Andrew Garland who help me lot to change my driving mind from semi trailer to truck and trailer, also learn lot more things like road rules, making straight lines in reversing, create a 90 degrees angle in reversing.

Fantastic experience: One of the best training institutes to go for your truck license assessment and it’s associated training. They tell you things about trucking which help you out on the road and during the entire training session they teach you things that clear up your basics so well about trucking that it helps you pass your assessment with flying colors. It boasts of a professional faculty and highly experienced trainers, probably the best industry training institute in all of North Island. Thank you Passrite for helping me achieve my heavy goods driver license.

Negative experience: Trying to get my I endorsement & took some lessons also in manual. Everytime intructors come up with new excuses that am not good enough & need more lessons. I was a driver testing officer for 6 years so have an idea when people are being genuine or just want to fail you to make more money. These guys I really feel just want to drag you along with excuses so can make more money. No good!!

Fantastic experience: Great driving academy. Matrin and David are great tutors. Good facilities onsite. Parking can be a little difficult especially if your booked in at a later time for a driving test or similar. Checkout my photos, there is off street parking which is fine to use but avoid parking at St Pierre's sushi as you will get towed.

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend PassRite driving academy for fast tracking getting your class 2 truck license. Practical Driving instructor Glen was very thorough but also patient, calm and helped me build confidence while driving a manual truck. Likewise theory instructor and assessor Marshall ensured I knew what I needed to know for assessment. I was really happy when assessment was done by him. He's also a very calming presence which I needed during school hour traffic. They both made me feel like they wanted me to Pass with the right skills, and I did pass first time. I am very grateful . Thank you to you both. Very impressed with the positive vibes. I learn best in a positive environment which is what was provided.

Fantastic experience: These guys are very professional. Vanessa was extremely helpful and the tutor Mike Collier was 1st class. I paid for this course myself and I would highly recommend.

Negative experience: If your instructor is Matt please don't even bother to go for classes. Not helpful at all and rude. Don't wanna go in details. But just the heads up for others. But it was great experience on my forklift licence instructor was kind and helpful. Thanks.

Negative experience: tried to enquire about getting an I endorsement, spoke to this lady in charge of the course called Venessa, she was giving me an arrogant attitude and before I can even get a question in she wanted to hang up already. Told her I didn't have experience in driving manual and her response was come back when you have enough experience because of the very strict criteria and she is doubting I could get up to standard within a short period of time, if I can fly an aircraft I'm sure I can get a hang of driving a manual. I asked her for the criteria of what they are testing so that I can focus more on those areas instead of flying blind and wasting my time and money going for the test and not knowing some of the maneuvers they require, she said she will email it to me when she finds it, haven't heard back from her so far. They need to lose their attitude or else they will lose their business to other competitors.

Negative experience: Please don't go here for your class 5 these rip offs will purposely make you fail and make you get more than 2 days of driving so you have to pay more you already pay 1420 dollars then they will ask for another 680 dollars for another lesson.

Fantastic experience: I am doing my conversion licence and did an hour driving lesson with Ray the day before my actual test. Ray is very professional and friendly. He makes driving so fun and points out all the rules that I need to take note of. Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: Came to do my wheels course here, friendly instructor and got through the theory nice and quick. Only slight negative was had to drive to different location to do practical assessment, but this is understandable and they can give you a ride if you need.

Negative experience: If you're going for Class 2 or above with your own money and don't have much experience driving trucks, stay well away from these guys. For me it was a total of $1860 and 3 months down the drain. It's worth mentioning that David from the Albany branch who did the books and Gilly the driver instructor were really nice. But I have given 1 star because I had to do those books and drives again from scratch at another driving academy. Two drives are included in the Class 2 licence package. The guy who did my two drives (unfortunately I can't remember his name) didn't teach me anything. I only learned that he didn't teach me anything when I was doing the drives at the other academy. They taught me stuff that I expected Passrite would teach me. After the two included drives. The instructor told me I would need at least 2 more drives to pass the assessment. Each extra drive of 1 /12 hours costs $300. The second instructor was Gilly. I have to say he was a good instructor. He did teach me few things. Even-though they charge you $300 per drive, it's really hard to get dates for drives. The dates they give you is like 1 month from the date you're booking. I started the process in early April and went all the way to the first week of July until I just had enough and decided to go to another driving academy. These guys just don't care. Once you put your money in you're the only one who is losing. For truck licences, I'd stay well away from these guy.

Fantastic experience: Awesome & freindly people, made my time with them enjoyable. They'll try their hardest to help you pass and make you confident, Richard has been really helpful in going out of his way to explain things to me with extreme Patience beyondw I expected! Would definitely recommend this place for driving! Thank you!
