Fantastic experience: Steve was a great instructor for our two boys, his approach is to not just get people to pass their test but to be excellent drivers, this gave our boys confidence and pride in having a high standard and being skilled at being excellent drivers. This has put our minds at ease as ours boys head out into the big wide world on their own behind the wheel. Steve was very accommodating to try and fit in with our schedule, and easy to be around and a really genuine guy. We can’t recommend enough.

Fantastic experience: Neil is a hidden gem of an instructor in ipassed driving school, so i would highly recommend him if you are any level of a learner. My experience has been amazing with Neil. I have almost had 7-8 instructors in the past and these are the reasons why i find Neil as the overall best tutor till now from whatever i have experienced: * real life driving tips and tricks more than just practical Test specific tips. * logical problem solving explanation of driving by giving you references and tricks to get rid of your fear. * at no point he assumes you would know everything and continuously makes you well versed with road rules by reading and explaining them out. It was a good revision of road rules just by sitting next to him. * he explained every detail of the car, things i dint even know existed, this is very rare of any instructor to go out of their way to help you out in the real world. * i have just had 3 classes with him and i feel like i already learned so much from him in such a short span. * his booking slots are easily available without much gaps, which makes it convenient to book consequent classes so that you dont have gaps in between lessons and lose practise. * his simple comprehensive short instruction will keep ringing in your head in order to make you a mindful driver. He is a kind man who is passionate to see you learn and get confident by conquering your fears. I am someone who gets panic attacks while driving, neil was very patient with me and understood my needs. Thank you, for being my teacherI am very grateful

Fantastic experience: Stephen is an absolutely fantastic driving instructor who I would highly recommend! I used to be a very nervous driver and hadn’t had much practice, particularly in the city, but with his lessons my confidence increased enormously and I learned heaps. He is friendly, fun, patient, and helps you fix things in a way that doesn’t make mistakes seem like personal failings! He also always ends the lesson with encouragement about how it’s going. After a series of lessons throughout the second half of the year, I passed my restricted on my first go, and though I was of course nervous it felt reasonably straightforward even when driving in a largely unfamiliar area. Fantastic experience: I've just passed my practical driving test (I was doing driving license conversion). Steve is an amazing driving instructor! By being very professional and patient, Steve helped me a lot in dealing with the stress and day by day I managed to build my self-confidence in driving again. Steve is not just a great driving instructor but he has also a great personality, he has an amazing sense of humor and a great empathy. If you really want to learn how to drive but not just to pass the test, I would highly recommend Steve as a driving instructor! Steve, thanks for making me feel confident to drive in NZ!

Negative experience: Worse driving instructor I came across. Stephen made me feel unsafe during the lesson by: - yanking my left hand off the steering wheel when I was driving. I panicked and braked, almost causing an accident - told me to look at his tablet when I was driving. I told him I can’t as I was driving, he told me “then you will be in big trouble, if you can’t take your eyes off the road. You need to be able to do that to look at the mirrors”. Anyone will know looking at a tablet and looking at the mirrors are two different things. - raising his voice constantly during the lesson and telling me I will fail if I were to take the driving test (I told him I only had a few hours driving experience, and am nowhere near test-ready standard, so those comments are absolutely unnecessary) It was such a terrifying experience that halfway through the lesson I was praying for it to end. ** I had a different driving instructor in Christchurch and tried out another driving instructor in Wellington the next day. Both are respectful and made learning to drive a fun experience.

Fantastic experience: An excellent driving school, passed my test first time thanks to what I learnt during my lessons. The real star of the show is Stephen, he genuinely cares about how you drive, not just for the test...but he's getting you prepared for the rest of your driving life. He keeps everything so light hearted and relaxed, we ended up talking a lot and swapping great stories and it helped me become a much more confident driver. A true legend, I really can't thank him enough, his only downside is that he's so booked up, book in advance.

Fantastic experience: I took my full license conversion test. I had not been driving for a long time and was a little rusty with my skills as well as having no clue as to how I had to prepare for me practical. Having lessons with Steve fully prepared me for the actual test. I’m saying this because when I was sitting my test, I realised I was perfectly aware of what I had to do to drive safely. Also, Steve always responded to messages in a timely manner and carried out all the schedules as planned - a great experience!

He has a lot of students, so if you are taking lessons over several weeks or months, it helps to keep a diary to discuss your progress with him.

Fantastic experience: I passed the full test as part of my conversion. However I had driver license in my home country, I didn’t drive for a few years at all and even before I did never get into habit of driving or feel as a confident driver. I knew I needed someone who would have patience with me, lots of patience.. cause as much as an instructor may want me to get something, I want it too and it is very frustrating for me if it takes me long.. and when an instructor gets nasty it is very difficult to progress. Based on reviews I contacted Steve and we spent quite a bit of time together in the car. With his assistance I become a more confident driver, learned that it is okay not to do everything fast and rather go for accuracy and “under the control”. Steve is a unique man and he does his job exceptionally well. I am grateful for constant nagging (reframing) as it helped me to pay more attention to what I needed to notice and work on. He has so much patience which many can admire, he is also able to understand you as a person and as someone who really wants to learn the skill of driving. Not only he will prepare you well for the test but more importantly he will teach you how to drive for life. Thank you Steve ☺️
