Fantastic experience: I had the best experience with Kat! I am late to learn to drive and that brings me a lot of anxiety and embarrassment. Kat is so chill and cool, made me feel totally normal, and made the driving experience fun! She is so patient and stays very positive which can be rare with driving instructors. Sad to see her go!! I would absolutely recommend her service if you’re deciding between instructors!

Fantastic experience: Kat has been a brilliant instructor - diligent, approachable and providing useful feedback after every lesson. I found the worksheet of skills Kat provides after every lesson super helpful so you can go away and work on particular areas to improve in your own time. She notices your progress across each lesson and tailors each lesson accordingly, as well as asking if there’s particular skills you’d like to work on. After nine lessons I feel prepared and competent to take the next step towards sitting my restricted licence. Ngā mihi nui Kat!

Very flexible and mindful to the students needs and with a lovely personality that genuinely makes learning a tricky thing enjoyable and stress-free. She knows the routes by heart and will pay attention to the students weak points to help tailor lessons to them and optimise the learning time. She also balances friendly conversation with the important lesson information perfectly so as to make lessons actually enjoyable as well as useful. I can’t recommend her enough. And I passed the test on my first try after taking her classes for a few weeks so that is surely another good indication of her abilities.

Fantastic experience: I took a few lessons with Kat in the first weeks in NZ coming from Europe as an experienced driver but and frankly, very scared about driving on the left. What a great teacher she is. We drove up and down various routes to the school, work, supermarkets, etc. Not only she taught me about the differences from European and kiwi driving but also helped me greatly to familiarise myself with Wellingtons's landmarks and key roads. Now that my oldest boys just turned 16, they will for sure be at the wheel with her.

Fantastic experience: I had to go through the international driving license conversion process, and Katinka made it extremely simple. As an AuDHD person, i find understanding some rules and changes in context difficult as they don’t click in my head straight away - Here, Katinka walked me through the requirements, rules, and Whys at every step. Then, she proceeded to the driving prep test, which I presented at Thorndon VTNZ, passed easily, and got my full licence. Her professionalism, knowledge and clearly, her experience and expertise on how to teach driving, is something i wish every new driver can have in its life before getting on the road. Fantastic experience: I had the most amazing experience learning to drive with Kat, and never would have gained the confidence and skills to pass my Restricted test on the first try without her! I’d had several bad experiences with driving instructors before booking with Kat, and the difference when I started learning with her was incredible. Kat is so patient, calm and respectful, and is a really diligent teacher. After every lesson she sent me a table of the skills I’d worked on and what I still needed to improve on, and she was available for any questions I had between lessons. She is clearly always working to improve her lessons further, and does so much research on test routes and road rules. Kat is without a doubt the best option for driving lessons in Wellington, and I can’t recommend her highly enough!

Fantastic experience: If you're looking for a driving instructor who knows her stuff, is kind, calm, personable and incredibly supportive then I cannot recommend Kat enough. I started lessons with Kat over a year ago now. I was so nervous to start driving and had very little prior experience, and from the very first lesson Kat made me feel at ease. She has a wonderfully calm and chill vibe, and is always so supportive. She has amazing attention and focus to the road and to your driving, and always meets you where you are at, building up your confidence and growing your skills. She helped me pick up all the little nuances and skills the testing officers are looking for. She creates a wonderfully supportive and calm environment that is conducive to learning. She is also lovely as a person, so kind and friendly. She has excellent style, a fantastic vibe, and a very funny pair of costume glasses she pulls out when pretending to be a testing officer. I 100% would not be able to parallel park without her - she has a great way of breaking down the steps and helping you to understand how to manoeuvre the car. She sends a review email back after every lessons, which includes the highlights and the things to work on, which I found so useful in understanding what I needed to focus on and improve. She was also so supportive and flexible about times when I was trying to sit my restricted test. It took me couple tries to pass my restricted test, as driving is definitely not something that came easily for me, and Kat was so encouraging and kind throughout. If not for her, I might’ve given up. But, because of her awesome teaching, I did finally pass my restricted - and I absolutely could not have done it without her! Her website is fab and very easy to use, she has excellent comms, and made learning to drive go from a very stressful, to a fun and enjoyable experience. Truly, I cannot recommend Kat enough. She is an exceptional driving instructor!

Fantastic experience: Even with my extensive experience of driving, I still value Kat’s lesson and practice for my practical driving test for a conversion. Driving for a test requires so much attention in details, more than just gut feelings. Kat can help you point out what you need for a test. Fantastic experience: I remember reading an article about Kruze Control and after seeing it was woman owned, and her inclusive values aligned with mine I finally, at the age of 35 (and with some HUGE fears) booked lessons. It’s going to sound so corny but it’s changed my life. Kat is an *excellent* teacher, so calm and patient, and so thorough. After every lesson she sends through a checklist where she is keeping notes on certain things you have learnt, and what you still need to learn/practice. I felt in control of my own learning and understood what I needed to practice which was invaluable. I had tried many instructors over the years and I gave up on them all, but with Kat I finally knew I could do it. And I passed with 100% when I sat my restricted!! Last night I was able to drive myself to a quiet beach inlet with a friend, and enjoy an evening swim on a whim. Book in with Kat so you can do that for yourself too, you won’t regret it ✨✨

She’s calm, kind, friendly, and knowledgeable, making every session behind the wheel less nerve-racking. Kat asks what you’d like to work on for your lesson, instead of dictating the lesson (though, she’s happy to recommend what to work on). Kat provides incredibly useful feedback after every lesson, both verbally and via email so you can easily keep track of your progress and areas that require improvement. Fantastic experience: Great experience learning to drive with Kat! Clear goals and expectations, well laid out learning plan and progress. I had about 20 lessons and no other experience prior to Kat's lessons. 5 months later I have passed the restricted test (about one lesson a week) and she was happy to assist me with a refresher lesson 6 months later for a full test. All in all, an amazing instructor and I could not recommend Kat enough!

Fantastic experience: After a long, stressful relationship with driving, including lessons with other instructors, Kat got me out of my rut and I finally got my full license. Fantastic experience: Kat was punctual, professional, encouraging and her driving tips were practical and helpful! I took a lesson with Kat to prepare for a 2000km solo road trip in the south island and it was the boost of confidence I needed. I had never driven on the left side of the road (I’m from the US) and my parallel parking skills aren’t the best, but I shared with Kat my concerns and we were able to work on those areas during the lessons. Plus, she provides the car which was important as I don’t own a car here. Would highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: Kat helped me get my full license after I had been on my restricted for a few years. As an instructor , Kat was extremely calm yet responsive. They were able to give instructions in a way that was very clear and non-invasive which helped ease my anxiety surrounding the test. Kat gave great driving advice, but also some helpful tips for test day, like doing something that you’d enjoy (like coffee, or favourite food) afterwards so the day isn’t entirely dominated by the thought of having to do a driving test. Fantastic experience: I had sat my restricted test once before and failed as I didn’t have anyone available to properly teach me. I did one driving lesson with someone from AA and found it very stressful and hard to understand. Then, I did one with Kat and she explained everything I wasn’t doing and what I needed to work on and made it so clear to me. After 1 lesson and 1 refresher with her the day before my test I passed! I literally could not have passed and would not have had the confidence to even book my test had it not have been for these lessons. Fantastic experience: Just at the end of last year, I passed my full licence test! I put this all down to Kat and her incredible driving school. She managed to alleviate a lot of my anxiety around driving while teaching me everything I needed to know to be able to pass the test including putting in the effort to come and sit with me during my test which definitely calmed my nerves!
