Fantastic experience: I had a wonderful experience learning to drive with AA and passed my restricted test with no critical errors thanks to excellent guidance and instruction. My instructor was Satish, who was incredibly friendly, supportive and kind despite the fact that I was a reluctant and anxious driver at first. Fantastic experience: I just passed my restricted driving test, all thanks to my AA driving instructor Raj Chandra! I highly recommend booking some lessons with Raj. I was a very anxious driver, but Raj made me fell calm and confident. He was very patient, clear, reassuring, and together we mapped out a plan to get me from my learner license to my restricted license. Thank you Raj!!

Fantastic experience: The driver instructor “Raj Chandra” is the best driving instructor from AA. He gave a clear instruction. He was calm, patient and friendly. He did not make me feel nervous on the road. He knew what was wrong and he fixed my error. For me, by adjusting the seating position give me driving much better. I can tell it right away. I pass the test by first attempt. If you want to pass the driving test, I am highly recommended Raj Chandra, the AA driving instructor.

Negative experience: I used the same document to get my driver's license that I used last time and they refused to respect the name I required, even though they could see in their records that they honoured it last time. No respect for cultural naming

Negative experience: Manu Patel - Rude, condescending, patronising, no patients. Why do you have people like this working for a driving school? You need to recheck your structure of manning I reckon.

Negative experience: I personally wouldn't recommend the Defensive Driving Course if you are +25. It is very focused to young people and I felt that I wasted my money doing it. I thought I was going to gain confidence and learn how to react in dangerous moments while driving but I didn't get any of that. Also, I did it in New Lynn, and the teacher there (a lady) used to spoke a loooot about everything and rushed through the book to complete the course. Waste of money and time!

Negative experience: I have 3 years ago attended AA driving class with Shefali I didn't enjoy learning from her as I found her to be very rude and impatient. She was asking personal and inappropriate questions. Which i found it to be annoying on her part. Though i heard lots of good reviews about her it seems she isn't living up to that reputation. So I didn't bother attending the second class with her.

Fantastic experience: Fortunate to have attended the driving lesson with my instructor Jai Nair before my practical test. Jai gave me in-depth and constructive feedback which helped me clear the test. Very useful and informative session - worth the money spent and I recommend each one should do this atleast once before attending the test. Cheers Jai and thanks AA.

Negative experience: Sad to say that I ve got really bad experience from aa school, Albert Street branch. The instructor was late. After 5 minutes, I texted her n got replied back that she will be late. Then she called me n said will arrive in 10 minutes. Then I got another text saying will arrive in 3 minutes. I waited for the next 5 minutes n she still didn't show up. I texted her to say I'm leaving then she called me n said she arrived n it s city detour that make she s late. I asked her to tell me where exactly her location cuz I still couldn't spot her. she said she stuck at the junction but I stood at the junction n no sign of AA driving school car..No apologies from her n she have bad talking manner. So disappointed. Would never tried AA school anymore

Positive experience: The Defensive Driving Course in Albany was a great learning experience. Our tutor Robert was engaging and the group discussions helped me apply the ideas we learned in class to different road scenarios.

Negative experience: I am a guy who's currently working on weekdays and it is really hard to find a instructors when booking as they do not know who is available. We have to find out who is available ourselves which is their job I believe.

Fantastic experience: Hi there, booking for first lesson took time as the website didn't work. So I just called in. The first lesson was informative, enlightening and pretty fun actually. My instructor Steven was great, very professional and funny. Haven't booked my second lesson yet as my dad is helping me in driving at home. It would be nice to get Steven again for my second lesson Selina :)

Positive experience: Very good instructors, went there for my AA ignition lesson and thoroughly enjoyed it; I personally used the lessons as a guide for practice later on.

Fantastic experience: I had two driving lessons with Raj after holding my restricted licence for 14 years. He gave me great guidance about what to work towards for my full licence. I subsequently passed first time.

This course has made me more cautious,safe and more focused when driving on the road. Fantastic experience: I couldn't have had a better experience with AA driving lessons and in particular with my coach Raj. I was nervous and new to driving and Raj was not only a great teacher with good knowledge, but he was calm and patient at all times. I just passed my restricted test with flying colours and couldn't be happier. I would recommend Raj to any driver!

Negative experience: I set this course in Pakuranga and I hardly understood what was the Chinese tutor saying because he was talking so fast with his accent ,, - I don't recommend this course for guys over 25 on restricted they have to wait 2 months till they can find booking date to set their full licence practical test and another 2 months from the time they book to set the full licence driving test ,, !! simply fully booked in advance all over nz North and South, and the AA authenticated guys can't find any solution for the thousands on waiting list - Simple waste of money and time for guys on restricted over 25 ..

Positive experience: Practical lesson was great in terms of preparing for my full license test, the theory lessons were okay but in my opinion they were filled with common sense which was just repeated over and over again.

Positive experience: Defensive driving course review: It was alright, but I thought there would be more practical and hands on teaching, as the 1 in-car session included was not enough time in my opinion. It was all theory based, and I was expecting to be learning physical driving skills. I also think the price of the course was a bit steep, considering all the information taught was from a workbook and basically common sense. Also easily sourced online, and not necessary to have a physical tutor for. The only good part of the course were the eDrive sessions, as I could learn in my own time and access it from anywhere. If the whole course was held online I think everyone would benefit, as it would be more convenient and cheaper for students as well as the tutor.

Fantastic experience: Both our children have completed the DDC in Howick which was great preparation for their Full Licence Tests. It increased their confidence and gave them pointers, particularly with Hazard Detection. We were very pleased that they both passed their Full Licence on their first attempt. Would definitely recommend this course for other students.

Fantastic experience: I thoroughly enjoyed the course and as the classes were in the evening it was very convenient to fit them around work. I think that I am now both a better and safer driver and I feel a lot more confident booking my full license test

Positive experience: I learned a lot about how to mitigate my driving styles when they become unhelpful. The only thing that irritated (but in the greater scheme of things, is understandable) is that the instructor treated us like stupid teenagers. I guess being out of high school for 8 years, I had forgotten what that felt like.

Fantastic experience: AA Driving school Westgate -I definately enjoyed the Defensive driving course. The tools I needed to be a responsible and better driver. The course Tutor Mrs Patel made it enjoyable. She's done an awesome job teaching the twenty students who come from all walks of life and different ages as well. Highly recommend to driver's with full licence. I have no hesitation in recommending the DDC course to everyone that drives. When my children reach the driving age, i will get them on board to do the this course. Money well spent:)

Fantastic experience: I attended the Defensive Driving held at AA Westgate at the start of the month. I feel that it was really useful and improved my awareness while driving, both of myself and others. The course content was interesting and well thought-out, and Shefali taught it in a fun, engaging manner. Highly recommended!

Fantastic experience: I recently went to the DDC classes held at Westgate which Shefali taught earlier in the month. I highly recommend doing the classes as they not only cut time off your license, but they also help you in day to day driving. I personally feel like my driving is now safer and I now have my full license 6 months early! Shefali makes the classes/practical way more fun she knows how to have a laugh! I recommend Shefali as a teacher for your DDC :) Do the course!

Fantastic experience: The experience of DDC has made me more alert when in my car as a passenger and I use my learning while my husband is driving. I believe to make roads safer this should be made compulsory. As now I see many risks to which I hadn't seen before. Where do I sit with this driving course on a scale from 1 to 10 I would rate it a 11. I am so pleased I took up the challenge to become a safer driver.

Fantastic experience: Awesome thing to do!! Everyone should def make the effort to sign up if they don't have a very good supervisor when first learning to drive. I am a much better driver for taking the course, and feel more confident about hazards and other drivers. :)

Fantastic experience: I took the defensive driving course before I sat my restricted licence. I think it's made me a more aware and safe driver, and I managed to pass my restricted test! It is also great that it reduces the restricted licence time, however it is quite expensive.

Fantastic experience: The Defensive Driver's course was great. It was straight forward and presented in a way that was engaging and easy to understand. Our instructor was clear and concise, getting us to think for ourselves and use our common sense when evaluating the road conditions. When I took the test I felt calm and relaxed and was able to gain a number of useful tips that will aid me in my future driving. The knowledge I gained from the course has most definitely had a beneficial impact on my driving awareness and I feel well and truly prepared for my Full Licence Practical Test.

Positive experience: Personally, I felt a lot of this was just common sense. the edrive homework was riddiculous if you got it too quickly it would restart the question etc. The most beneficial part is the driving with the instructor

Fantastic experience: I found the Defensive Driving Course very intuitive and helpful. It not only lessens the amount of time you have to wait to be eligible to sit the full licence test, but it also helps you to become a more aware and safer driver. Additionally, the 60 minute drive helped me understand which areas I need to focus on in order to (hopefully) successfully sit the full license test and subsequently improve my personal driving style even more.

Fantastic experience: An absolute must do when preparing for your full license test. Instructors were friendly and easy to communicate with, making the whole experience that much better. Learn't plenty about driving safely on New Zealand's roads through the use of the contemporary and relevant e-drive program. Definitely recommend the course to anyone considering it.

Positive experience: I have just completed my Defensive Driving course in the Howick centre. My tutor was extremely engaging and really commanded the class in a positive manner. The course was helpful and has improved my risk assessment and has made me aware of the type of driver I am.

Positive experience: I think I learnt alot and now am a more aware driver. I did my course at westage with Shefali. I think she was very entertaining but still got the imprtant information across. I would have liked to learn about how to control my car (or any other car) in a skid/slip situation and also about how to control the car in snowy conditions. I think the course could really benefit from addition of this content, even if its only taught in theory and not in the practical session.

Positive experience: I completed the DDC at the Mt Roskill branch with Tom. He was a great instructor both in the drive and in the class, laid back and relaxed. The DDC made me more aware of the environment that I drive in, and got me thinking about risks both inside and outside the car that could affect my driving. I would recommend this course to anyone, even if they have their full licence. I definitely think I am a better driver and prepared for my full test now that I have completed the course.
